"Love Your Belly": Self-Massage & Breathwork

I've presented this workshop in the trauma resolution and mental health community. It includes a foundation in “Unwinding the Belly” by Allison Post, the ancient Chinese Taoist bodywork called Chi Nei Tsang (CNT aka Integrated Internal Organ Massage), scar tissue massage techniques, and corrective exercise breathwork.

Ancient Chinese White Cloud Taoist Monks developed CNT thousands of years ago to improve their meditation practice. They noticed that the internal organs contained energy blockages (negative emotions i.e. fear, anxiety, depression, and worry) that needed to be worked through. CNT creates a bridge between the thinking mind and the feeling belly, “the second heart and the second brain”.
Mantak Chia brought it to the US in the 1970’s. It requires practitioners to both practice and teach this self-care. As a practitioner, I’ve maintained my personal CNT self-care practice for over 20 years and integrated it into my professional massage practice.
“The center is the physical nexus of all emotions, movement, and breath.”
