The perfect opportunity to take time out to nourish and replenish yourself! Massage can provide stress relief and healing relaxation. It also reduces and even eliminates the aches and pains associated with pregnancy amidst all of the changes within and demands on your body as you carry and nurture a new life. It also allows you to make deeper contact with your own body while bonding with your baby. This is all a powerful aspect of your preparation for giving birth.

I am certified in Prenatal Massage and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi. I combine this training to create a sacred and nurturing experience for mama and baby in this time that can be both magical and challenging.

Prenatal massage originated from the ancient practice of women caring for women before, during, and after birth. Midwives and birth assistants, “doulas”, have been around for thousands of years. These original “birth professionals” set the precedent for taking great care with supporting women to prepare for motherhood: body, mind, and spirit, also knowing that a healthy, happy mother is more likely to foster a healthy, happy baby.

Mothers often share that they notice that their babies also really enjoy the massage. With mothers to whom I have given regular pregnancy massage, I have experienced newborns responding to and seemingly recognizing my voice during their mom’s postpartum massages!

POSTPARTUM MASSAGE: Repair & Replenish

Postpartum care and follow up to ensure the education and health of mothers is sorely needed in the United States and all over the world. It can plant the seeds for a healthy, thriving society with strong physical vigor and sound mental health.

Modern society doesn’t offer this foundation but we can change that.

In our culture, postpartum is traditionally considered to be the first 6-8 weeks after giving birth. In some traditional cultures, the mother and baby are secluded, sheltered, protected, and nurtured for the first 40 days postpartum.

Replenish and rejuvenate from the hard work of childbirth and caring for your child’s needs. We can address your recovery and what nurtures you back to wholeness and comfort in your body.  This can include scar tissue massage for c-section recovery and instruction for self-massage as a gentle bridge back to your belly and your body. This support applies to all mothers post-pregnancy including women with grown children. (Includes Low Back/Hip Pain & Alignment )

Postpartum massage assists mothers in recovery and replenishment after giving birth. It can be a vital part of the healing process as a woman walks through the tremendous transformation that comes with motherhood. It allows for a peaceful time to find balance for the self and therefore for meeting the demands of parenting and being present to your little one/s.

The art of postpartum massage can include supporting hormonal balance, assisting the uterus to shrink back to normal size, and addressing or prevention of postpartum depression. C-section birth recovery and scar reduction massage, including instruction for self-massage, is a part of the healing services offered.

You have the option to bring your newborn baby to the session. I’ve worked with newborns and mamas on the table together many times; baby is nestled against mama’s breast in a protective cocoon of propping pillows while we work with the side-lying position.

It is much more than a pampering luxury! Therapeutic massage can be a fundamental aspect of the postpartum healing process. In many traditional cultures, it is an essential aspect of care for mothers after childbirth.
